Ribbon Cutting at Lutheran Social Services
Lutheran Social Services of Southern California, a leading provider of social services programs in Southern California, announced that they will be holding a public open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at their new corporate offices located in the City of Orange at 999 Town & Country Road, Suite #100. The event will take place on Thursday, August 18, 2022, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The open house, entitled “A World of Services, Starts in Orange” will feature appetizers from around the world provided by LA Nonprofit & catering company, Foods From Afar. Additionally, guest will enjoy tours, networking and prize drawings. The Chamber of Commerce of Orange will be on hand to provide a ribbon cutting ceremony between 5-5:30 p.m.
The organization, which is licensed in 6 counties in Southern California, moved the corporate office from their Fullerton location in late December 2021. That site still serves as one of 18 hubs/service locations providing local programs including case management, a food pantry, housing counseling, peer training programs, and provides victims assistance to those who have experienced domestic or other forms of violence.
“Now that we are settled in our new building, we want to invite local businesses, government contacts, community leaders and leaders from all faiths to learn about our close to 40 programs throughout the Southland that save and impact the lives of our neighbors who need help most,” shared CEO LaSharnda Beckwith. Beckwith is no stranger to coming up with innovative programs and ideas to solve some of Southern California’s toughest social challenges.
Two years ago on April 20, 2020, as the world shut down due to COVID –19 Dr. Beckwith was unable to walk through the doors of LSSSC's previous corporate offices in Fullerton. What she achieved in leadership as the new CEO during this crisis could very well become a title for her 5th book.
Unable to even meet in-person for a year with any of her nearly 200 staff, 22 board members and 1,000’s of
supporters, Dr. Beckwith led a massive project to convert programs providing critical services to online/hybrid delivery. Additionally, she led all staff to address heightened COVID trauma being experienced by Southern California’s most vulnerable populations.
During this time, she created a diverse dream team of experienced executives to build and fund an innovative model for Community Wellness Centers that address every aspect of a client’s healthy and wholesome existence. The first opens its doors in 2025.
