About Orange Police Chief Adam Jevec
Captain Adam Jevec, began his law enforcement career with the City of Orange Police Department 19 years ago, and was appointed as the City’s new Chief of Police on March 28, 2025.
Jevec replaced Chief Dan Adams who retired on March 27, after 35 years with the Orange Police Department, including the last four years as Chief of Police. While providing an essential public safety perspective to the City’s management team, Jevec is responsible for continuing the community’s high level of policing services and furthering the successful community engagement and outreach programs.
Jevec was born and raised in the City of Orange and is a graduate of Orange High School. He ventured away from Orange to Sonoma State for his Bachelor Degree then to George Mason University in Virginia for a Graduate Degree in History. Jevec began his law enforcement career with the Arlington County Virginia Police Department in 2004. He returned to Orange and joined the Orange Police Department in 2006.
He has worked a variety of assignments, including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Team member, and Gang Unit Detective. In 2015, he promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and worked as a Patrol Sergeant, Gang Unit Supervisor, SWAT Team Leader and as Legal Affairs Sergeant in the Office of the Chief. In 2019, he promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and worked as a Watch Commander responsible for field operations, SWAT Commander and manager of Field Training for all police officers.
In 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Captain, and commanded the Department’s largest division, Field Services, where he was responsible for over 130 employees and managed the department’s Patrol Services, Traffic Bureau, Neighborhood Enhancement Team, Homeless Engagement Team, Communications Center and the SWAT Team.
Prior to commanding the Field Services Division, Jevec led the Support Services Division where he was directly responsible for the department’s budget, hiring and training, crime prevention and Homeland Security.
In addition to his Graduate Degree, Jevec has studied at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, is a graduate of the distinguished Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, Executive Development Programs and P.O.S.T. Command College Class # 71.
Jevec is a devoted husband and the proud father of four beautiful children.
