A longtime resident of Santa Ana\, Supervisor Sarmiento has built a career rooted in equity\, inclusion\, and opportunity for all residents of Orange County. Before joining the Board\, he served 14 years on the Santa Ana City Council\, including two years as the city's Mayor.\n\n\n\nDuring his tenure\, he was known for championing fiscal responsibility\, affordable housing initiatives\, environmental sustainability\, and youth programs that uplift future leaders.\n\n\n\nHis leadership reflected a commitment to balancing economic growth with the well-being of local families and small businesses. As Supervisor\, Sarmiento continues to focus on key regional priorities such as public safety\, mental health resources\, clean communities\, and transparent governance.
